What I want to know about my topic

I would like to know what people think of a job were you are helping someone and risking your life while doing it. I also would like to know why people who say risking you life is not good but when it comes down to something is wrong with them they are all for it since it is helping them. I think that if  I could also find out what people say about firefighters when they are not helping them or someone close to them. Like we as the fire rescue are good while we are helping you but when it is all over were nothing but just some guys who fight fire. So if I could find the answers to this set of  questions It would make me as someone who is involved with the fire rescue feel like I am thanked for my help at what ever the call my be that I respond to.
