A firefighter was injured early Wednesday while battling a fire that seriously damaged a St. Cloud home.
A resident of the home in the 1900 block of Peachtree Boulevard in the Pine Lake Estates community discovered the fire, urged four other family members in the home to leave and called 911, according to the St. Cloud Fire Rescue Department.
By the time firefighters arrived, smoke and flames were pouring through the roof of the home. Osceola County firefighters joined St. Cloud crews at the scene, according to St. Cloud Fire Rescue.
St. Cloud firefighter/paramedic Ben Faber was transported to a hospital for overexertion and difficulty breathing after her was injured while working outside the home. His injuries are not life-threatening.
Fire officials determined that the home was uninhabitable after the blaze.
